How to play the triangle retro styled graphic design for theatre tour

How to play the triangle is an interactive, theatrical concert inspired by the music of Leonard Bernstein and his West Side Story. The audience will actually be able to participate playing the triangle, after having had a short workshop. Not very long after I was asked to come up with a concept for the graphic design of the project, the different pieces of the puzzle all fell into place.

I wanted to draw a parallel between playing an instrument and playing a game, by turning ‘The Triangle’ into a retro arcade game, bases initially on the classic Space Invaders (which also draws back to one of the underlying themes of the show: The diabolical triangle immigrants find themselves in moving into an unknown environment). The alternate version features the dancers silhouettes from the iconic poster of the West Side Story, hitting a big triangle, both in retro pixelated style. For more info click here.
